She was predeceased by: her husband William O. "Swifty" Swift; and her brothers, James Pavlik and Richard Pavlik. She is survived by: her daughters, Theresa Rothrock (Andy), Debbie Copeland (Steve) and Kathy Whitaker (John); her grandchildren, Felicia Ammann (Devin Brundick), Bill Ammann (Emma), Kyle Copeland (Jena Ingram), Kasondra Copeland, Samantha Whitaker, Rebecca Whitaker and Griffin Rothrock; her siblings, Margie Krupinski (Denny), Joan Steele (Jim) and Joe Pavlik; and her siblings-in-law, Sandra Pavlik, Brenda Pavlik, Bob Swift (Linda), Dick Swift (Sandy) and Jim Swift (Mary).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Missouri Botanical Garden or plant a flower in memory of Mary Ellen.
