He was predeceased by: his parents, Severo L. Vitela and Rosedare Vitela; and his sibling Severo L.. He is survived by: his close friend Betty Vitela; his siblings, Gerald, Tony Vitela (Bonnie), Mary Simpson (Denis), Nancy Stumpf (Greg), Edward (Kathy), George Vitela (Laura), Jean Barton, Leroy Vitela, Patricia Jung and Robert Vitela; and his aunts, Charlotte Duncan and Rosemary Hensley.
