He was predeceased by: his son Bruce; his parents, Leroy and Ann Richardson; and his sister Roseann Riley. He is survived by: his wife Sondra Grider; his sons, Roger (Jeanette) and Brian Grider; his granddaughters, Amber and Layla; his sister Nancy Martin (James); his sister-in-law Rita Stallings (Bud); his nieces, Renee Alivento (Tony), Robyn (Bill Cook), Laura Satcher (Ted) and Lisa Nix (David); and his nephew Robert Catron, Jr. (Kim).
