He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Chapo and Irene Mundbrod Chapo; his siblings, Julius Chapo (Marika) and Mary Csengody (Julius); his nephew Dennis Csengody; and his granddaughter Stacy Zavradinos.
He is survived by: his wife Anna Chapo; his children, Eva Dean (Terry), Anna, Martha, Joe Chapo, Jr. and Paul Chapo (Chrissy); his grandchildren, Nikki Zavradinos, Morgan Dean (Joel Habermehl), Joshua Koch (Lindsay), Dallas Dean, Brian Koch, Grace Chapo, Nicholas Chapo, Tom Chapo and Michael Chapo; his great grandchildren, Jackson Koch, Kane Zavradinos and Stephen Zavradinos; and his nieces and nephews, Gabe Csengody (Pat), Julius Csengody (Mary), Tom Csengody (Susan), Agnes Csengody Keating (Dan) and Judi Csengody Mattingly (Greg).
