He was predeceased by: his parents, William and Eileen; his wife Ina; and his son James Van Gels. He is survived by: his sons, Christopher [Kimberly] Van Gels and Richard [Lynne] Van Gels; his grandchildren, Nicolle, Lattina, Ashley, Trinity, Trent, Wolfgang, Kaylin, Rylan, Collyn, Nolan, Gracelyn, Brooklin, Addilyn Van Gels and John Plys; and his siblings, Marilyn Collier and Donald [Susan] Van Gels.
