It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John J. Schmitt of Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on November 20, 2020, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Schmitt and Rose Marie Schmitt; and his nephews, Mark Smith and James Schmitt. He is survived by: his wife Rose Schmitt; his children, Anthony Schmitt, Richard Schmitt and Christina Kurth (Steven); his stepchildren, Renee Cranberg (Andrew), John Steve and Daniel Steve (Lisa); his granddaughters, Holly and Gemma Kurth; his stepgrandchildren, Carter, Hannah Cranberg, MacKinzee and Kassidee Steve; his siblings, Ted Schmitt (Elizabeth), Carol Smith, Robert Schmitt (Caryn), Nancy Schmitt and Scott Schmitt (Laura); and his nieces and nephews, Jeff, Ricky, Matt, Michael, Nino Schmitt, Amy Schmitt, Julie Smith, Mary Smith and Rosie Stinson.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic Baue Funeral Homes does require all family members and guests to wear a mask while visiting our facilities. Social distancing is required, and guests should stay at least 6 feet apart.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in John's name to Pedal the Cause or BJC Hospice John has donated his body to Washington University School of Medicine.
