It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gladys Cook in Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on February 23, 2025, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her former husband Frank Hayes (TD); her husband Benton Jr.; her mother Dora Hayes; her sons-in-law, David Williams and Kraig Moore; her granddaughter Melania Cook; and her sister-in-law Juanita Ellerson.
She is survived by: her children, Benton Cook III (Dorothy), Cassandra Cook Moore (late Craig), Gregory Cook and Aleta William (late David); her grandchildren, Tracy, Michael, Kesi, Kamoni, Kyndel, Alexander, Amanda, Aquilla, Rasaan, Ayanna, Geneva, Osiris, Anna, Nahshon, Dante, Jahnte and Tana; her siblings, Harold Ellerson, Frank Hayes (TD), Cleather Manning, Sally Ellerson, Juanita Richard and Lovella Ellerson Reed (Curtis); her sisters-in-law, Jocelyn Ellerson and Annette Ellerson; and also Sherrelyn Hogan (Damien). She is also survived by 26 great-grandchildren, eight (8) great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Ebenezer Baptist Church (2700 W Vandalia Rd, Greensboro, NC 27407). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
