He was predeceased by: his parents, John Kakales and Eleni Kakales. He is survived by: his children, John George Kakales (Beth) of Memphis, TN and Libbie Kakales Patterson (Kevin) of Oxford; his siblings, Vasili "Bill" Kakales (Stavroula) of Bruce, MS and Stamo; and his grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth Kakales, John Matthew Kakales of Memphis, George Alexander Patterson and Michael Elias Patterson of Oxford.

Expressions of sympathy or memorial contributions may be made to the Pantry of Oxford and Lafayette County or by enjoying a meal at any locally owned restaurant.
