He was predeceased by: his mother Ruth Fryman; his grandparents, Bertha Hammett and Benjamin Hammett; and his grandson Kyle. He is survived by: his wife Jean Newman; his children, Matthew Newman, Amanda Williams and Casey Newman; his grandchildren, Lauran, Rheann, Rowan, Jordan, Abigail and Christopher; and his great grandchild Cecelia.
