He was predeceased by: his mother Frances Nilges Riegel; and his siblings, Norbert, Arthur and Mary Ruth Deeken. He is survived by: his father Ferdinand Riegel; his wife Priscilla Madrid; his children, Nancy Fitzsimmons of Kansas City, MO, Tracy Pogue (Charles) of Blue Mound, KS and Brian Riegel (Patrick McWilliams) of Lee's Summit, MO.; his grandchildren, Kelly, Joseph, Ryan, Katherine, Hamilton, Garrett, Sophia and Julia; his great grandchildren, Sabrina, Patrick, Gabrielle, Joe, Tara and Cooper; and his great great grandchildren, Harlin, Ronin, Hayes and Highly. He is also survived by many friends of his children and grandchildren that thought of him as a second father or grandfather.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Presentation (130 NW Murray Rd, Lee's Summit, MO 64081).
In lieu of flowers the family asked that memorial donations be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor in Kansas City.
