He was predeceased by: his parents, Willie Starks and Violet Starks; his former wife Helen Starks; his stepchildren, Joellen Woods, Larry Cook and Dennis Cook; and his siblings, Willie Vernon Starks, Marvin E. Starks, Sr., Raymond Starks, Myrtle Allen, Syble Browning, Priscilla Hendrix, Naomi Nettell and Melba Grace Starks.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Starks of St. Louis, MO; his children, Ronnie Starks of Union, MO, Michael Starks, Sr. (Judy) of Apache, OK and Debrah Mantle (David) of Union, MO; his grandchildren, Robyn Starks of Orange Beach, AL, John Starks of House Springs, MO, Michelle Dubray (Marc) of Lawton, OK and Michael Starks, Jr. of Rolla, MO; and his nephew Vern Ray Starks (Mimi) of Seattle, WA. He is also survived by six step-grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, many step-great-grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins and many friends.
