She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Bernard and Cecelia Rosina Kemper; her spouse Thomas Purtell; and her brother Phil Kemper. She is survived by: her son Ed Purtell; her daughter-in-law Angie Purtell; and her sisters, Margaret Parman and Mary Little.

In remembrance of Dorothy's life, the family has asked that donations be made to Catholic Charities.
