She is survived by: her spouse Eddie Merritt Jr.; her children, Patricia Merritt, Madeline Merritt and Asa; her siblings, Evelyn Jackson, Carol Ann Lloyd (Kenneth) and Larry Jackson; her grandchildren, Wallace Herndon Jr., Kenyatta Imani Asante, Chilembwe Djassi Asante, Chimerenga Akili Asante and Sidney Ture of Washington; her nieces and nephews, Eric Jackson (Cheryl), Tony Lloyd (Artina), Brian Lloyd (Tammy), Rodney Martin, Linda Faye Moffett (Edward) and Pam Lathon; and her godchildren, Rosalind Renee, Elise Oates, Dr. Steven Veal, Gary Boyd and Scipio Crowder.
