She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Joseph Allen Adams; her daughter Sheryl "Sherry" McPherson (Todd); her stepchildren, Edwin Joseph Kaup Jr. (Kim), Victoria Lynn Leganski, William Joseph Kaup, Scott Edwin Kaup and Steven Paul Kaup; her grandsons, Jack and Ben McPherson; and her siblings, Iva Eldridge (late Charles), Laverne Timmermann (Lee) and Vernon C. Thacker (Sandra).

Memorial contributions in Dorothy's name may be made to the Lindenwood Area Senior Ministry or to the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 404.
