It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Jo Thornton of Saint Louis, Missouri, who passed away on August 25, 2021, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, James Hollians and Viola Johnson; her husband Douglas Thornton; and her siblings, Charles, Arthur Lee, Michael, James and Eloise Tugle.

She is survived by: her sisters, Louise Beck (Kevin) of Collinsville Illinois, Diane Flemons of Blairsville and Sheila Parker (John) of Belleville, Illinois; her aunt Mallie Hines; and her close friend Shirley DeMay. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
