She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Erwin J. Schaefer; her daughters, Sharon McGuire (Kevin), Diane Mueller (Bill) and Jill Smith (Brian); her sibling Kay McLaurin; and her sister-in-law Ginny Schumacher.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
