She was predeceased by: her parents, Scott Redman and Emma Ireland-Harris; her siblings, Willie Andrew Harris and Rosietta Linnell; and her daughter Joyce Ann Simms.

She is survived by: her husband Nathaniel Simms; her son Nathaniel LaVon Simms; her granddaughters, Natisha Wilson (Jason) and Jessica Miller (Brian); her nephews, James "Earl" Dilworth and Otis; her niece Cynthia Harris; her great grandchildren, Travis Simms and LaNautica; and her grandchildren, Ashanti Simms, Briannah Miller, Julia Wilson, Makell Hemphill, Natalie Wilson, Brian Miller, Jr., Bishop Miller and Jason "Jase" Wilson, II. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
