He was predeceased by: his parents, Rex C. DeShon and Agnes DeShon (Grooms); his spouse Mignon Goetz; his brother Rex C. Jr. "Bud"; and his sister-in-law Louise DeShon.
He is survived by: his children, Darcy Carpenter (David) of Nebraska City, NE, Janet Taylor (Michael), Andy (Lorrie) of Ft. Worth, TX and Ridge of St. Joseph; his brother Larry (Linda); his grandchildren, Elyse Mohr (Clint), Max McBride, Blair McBride, Gray Carpenter, Kailee Smith (Mike), Kyle Taylor, Logan Taylor, Megan Runge (Ben), Morgan DeShon, Chesney DeShon, Carson DeShon and Samantha DeShon; and his great grandchildren, Elise, Talia, Sophia, Amelia, Harrison, Thomas and Henry. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends.
Dick's final project was the Pony Bar, which pays tribute to the Goetz Family's contribution to St. Joseph's history.
