He was predeceased by: his parents, Florence Auten and Pete Auten; his son-in-law Jimmy Wilson; his siblings, Ralph Auten, Virginia Robison, Vera Hamblin and Duane Auten; and his brother-in-law Russ Coleman.
He is survived by: his wife Tama Auten; his daughters, Christa Wilson and Dana Haywood (Jon) of Caruthersville, MO; his sister Vivian Coleman of Hopkins, MO; his sister-in-law Donita Auten; and his grandsons, Larry Sample III, Spencer Haywood (Lauren), Casey Haywood (Amanda), Taylor Haywood (Brittany) and Chandler Green. He is also survived by 6 great-grandchildren.
