He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo H. and Mary L. Hockaday (Gaddie); his wife Beatrice "Bea" Gail Kerns; his daughters, Gail Sells and Diana King; and his siblings, Bill Sells, Connie Hartman, Emery Hockaday and Delores Platte.
He is survived by: his daughter Cheryl Sells Washington (Steven); and his siblings, Joyce Scott and Dean Hockaday. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory (5005 Frederick Ave Suite A, St Joseph, MO 64506). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
