We are sad to announce that on December 31, 2023, at the age of 82, Barbara Ellen Swartz in Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Mary Elizabeth and Robert Hoffman; her husband Gary "Sam" Swartz; her daughter-in-law Laura Swartz; and her sister Judy Ann Hoffman.

She is survived by: her children, Melissa Crowl (Kevin), Robert Swartz (Christine) of Panama City, FL and Andrew Swartz (Ashley) of Bethany, MO; her grandchildren, Jillian Swartz, Louis Caruso, Kaitlyn Swartz, Jewel Caruso and Ariel Swartz; and her siblings, Nancy Turner-Neis, Debby Smith, Denny Hoffman and Tim Hoffman. She is also survived by four great-grandchildren.

Memorials are requested to the St. Mary's Food Pantry or Mir House of Prayer.
