He was predeceased by: his parents, Olen Skaggs and Margie Griggs Roberts; his son Robert "Robby" Skaggs, Jr.; his siblings, Larry Skaggs, Raymond Griggs, Becky Griggs and Cy Griggs; and his close friends, Larry Adams, Harold Brewer and Steve Garrett.
He is survived by: his stepdaughter Tonia; and his siblings, Pam Brewer, Norma Griggs Destifanes, Gary Skaggs and James Skaggs. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
