He was predeceased by: his wife Doris; his former wife Ina Mae; his stepson Jim Prebianca; and his parents, Galloway Bowen Davis Spurgeon and Clara Alice Ferris.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Williams (Kenny) of St. James, Judy Self (Rick) of Gilbertsville and John Spurgeon (Janet) of St. James; his grandchildren, Scott John (Bonnie, Stacy Johns), Brian John (Hiroko, Corey Williams), Greg John (Anni, John Spurgeon Jr), Mike Spurgeon (Jennifer, Shannon Bower), Ashley Clark, Desirea Ross and Melody Ross; his great grandchildren, Christopher Wirz (Courtni, Derek Johns), Nathan John, Caleb John, Thomas, Emilee Williams, Ryan, Owen Spurgeon, Jacey, Jaxon, Jett, Judson Spurgeon, Griffin John, Nina John, Paxton Hackworth, Lily, Kennedy Bower, Adabella Burgess, Jozlynn, Trevor Spurgeon and Corbin Harriss; his great great grandchildren, Jax and Tessa Wirz; his sister-in-law Joan Cole (Charles) of St. Charles, MO.; his child Gary Webster; his brother Leslie; his grandsons, John Spurgeon Jr., Michael Spurgeon and Corey Williams; and also, Stacy Johns and Erik John. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
