He was predeceased by: his daughter Michaela Eddy; and his parents, Hugh Kerns and Garnet Kerns. He is survived by: his wife Virginia Pat Kerns; his daughter Vilma Mendoza (Gustavo); his grandchildren, Lauren Wohlford (Spencer), Mary Kate Toler (Alex), Alexandra Griffith (Brandon), Carlos Mendoza (Veronica) and Rafael Mendoza; and his great grandchildren, Lily, Ella Wohlford, Valerie Mendoza, Brandon, Julie, Antonio Griffith and Annabelle Mendoza.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests contributions be considered to Liberty Meals on Wheels or the Liberty Hospital Treehouse.
