It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Hughes of Saint James, Missouri, who passed away on April 24, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, George O. Laun and Violet T. Laun; and her siblings, Susanna Laun Alexander, Emele Jane Laun Bushie and George.
She is survived by: her children, George Wilson Hughes (Nancy) of Anchorage, Alaska and Judy Cavender (Don Walker) of St. James; her grandchildren, Paul Hughes, Tanya of Eagle River, Alaska, Laura Cavender (Jason Glathar) of Ardmore, Pennsylvania, Polly Von Bergen (Colonel Charles Von) and Daniel Cavender (Heather) of Rolla; her great grandchildren, Malaea, Kalia, Emma Hughes, Zachary, Zane Von Bergen, Gemma, Garrett, Ford Glathar, Ava and Eli Cavender; her friend Cindy Hager; and her husband Ford Hughes.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established at the Friends of the St. James Public Library, 300 West Scioto, St. James, MO 65559.
