He was predeceased by: his parents, Chester Hedges and Bessie Hedges (Decker); and his siblings, Chester Harold Hedges and Eva Jeanette Lane. He is survived by: his wife Betty Marie Hedges (Neal); his children, James Alfred Hedges Jr. (Patricia), Susan Marie Johnson (Drew) and Dr. Robert Allen Hedges (Michelle); his grandchildren, Nathan Crowe (Michelle), Joshua Crowe (Cathy), Sarah Clay (Michael) and Matthew Oden Potter (Veronica); his great grandchildren, Michael James Crowe (Geneva), Damon Crowe, Ryan, Tyler Crowe, Ava James Clay, Eston Xavier Clay and Simon Oden Potter; and his great great grandchildren, Adrina Crowe and Owen Crowe.
Memorial Donations may be made in James' name to The First St. Charles United Methodist Church.
