Christina M. Smith (Frye), 59, died peacefully at her home surrounded by her family and pets in Wentzville, Missouri, on March 16, 2024, following a short battle with aggressive cancer. Born March 2, 1965, in Bluffton, Indiana, she was the daughter of Larry R. and Mary L. Frye.
She was a 1983 graduate of Zionsville Community High School and a 1987 graduate of Indiana University. She was very proud of Indiana University and supported them as an alumnus.
She worked for several years as a store manager, multi-unit manager, and territory franchise business manager at Taco Bell corporate before focusing on raising her children. She was a dedicated “soccer mom” and loved watching the kids play in tournaments and the community of parents. Her greatest achievement was two very successful and great kids who adored her and were with her at the end.
She was well known in the estate auction community as a collector of various jewelry and collectibles for the antique booth she loved. She enjoyed antiquing and appraising them and was an avid Longaberger collector. She was the First Lady of Cryptic Masons of Missouri from 2022-2023, supporting her husband in his fraternal organizations by volunteering for charity golf outings and other charitable events.
Chris married Michael S. Smith on September 23, 1995, who survives. Also surviving are daughter Insley L. Baker [Jonathan], Old Monroe, MO; son Carson M Smith, Wentzville, MO; brother Nelson B. Frye [Rene’], Zionsville, IN; father Larry R. Frye, Zionsville, IN; and four nieces and three nephews. Her mother preceded her in death in 2016.
