He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lewis and Flossie; his wife Betty Weimer; and his children, Steve Russell (Becky), Terry Russell, Diane Cooper (Larry) and Dennis Russell (Kathy). He was also cherished by twelve grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 28th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery (2900 Sheridan Rd, St. Louis, MO 63125).
