He was predeceased by: his grandparents, William and May Sweeney; and his close friend Steven Eugene Thompson. He is survived by: his parents, David Burns and Barbara Sweeney; his wife Sarah Thompson; his children, William David Thompson of Kalispell, Montana, Brandon Thompson of Rolla, Caitlyn Ann Thompson (Brian Schafer) of Rolla and Steven J. Thompson of Piedmont; and his grandchildren, Brandilyn Maggard of Salem, Missouri., Alyssa Maggard and Gavin W. Thompson.
