He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil O. Stone and Ruth Stone (Barnett); his son Robert Stone; and his brother Johnnie. He is survived by: his wife Renee (LaMontagne); his children, Debra Kirby, Donald Stone (Jennifer Harrington), Michael Stone and Cathy Bell; his grandchildren, Levon (Nikki Sexton), Kaitlin, Andrew Stone, Ashley (Justin Hunziker Alex), Adam Stone, Caleb, Logan and Wyatt Bell; his great grandchildren, Timothy, Devin, Kaitlyn Grace Sexton (Gracie) and Aleigha Stone; and his aunt Bettye Maroni.
Memorial contributions in Gene's memory are suggested to the Shriners Children's Hospital, St. Louis, MO.
