Van Steely Wood Obituary

Van Steely Wood, of Rolla, MO, passed away Friday, November 25, 2022 at the age of 70.

He was born on December 4, 1951 at Breathitt, Kentucky to the late Edward H. Wood and Lorene V. (Vancleve) Wood.

After graduating from high school, Van enlisted in the U.S. Army and served 2 tours with the 1st Cavalry in Vietnam. In his lifetime, Van loved working on and being around cars. He enjoyed reading, collecting coins, playing guitar and spending time with family and friends.

Van will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: a daughter, Heather Light and husband, Lawrence of Rolla, MO; two grandsons, Brody Light and Cooper Light; three brothers, Lawrence Wood of Sherman, TX, Gary Wood and wife, Jeanie of Salem, MO, and Mark Wood and wife, Gina of Rolla, MO; two sisters, Theresa Lane and husband, Allen of Vichy, MO and Diana Hawkins and husband, Roger of Rolla, MO, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
