He was predeceased by: his parents, John Leininger and Neva Leininger (Brixey); his wife Gracie Cevola Tackett; his son Dale Leininger; and his siblings, James "Jake" Leininger, Delores Wheatly and Mary Collins.
He is survived by: his children, Sheila Leininger of Rolla and John Leininger (Theresa) of Jefferson City, Missouri; his siblings, Russell Leininger of Oregon, Lloyd Collins of Willow Springs, Missouri and Donna "Susie" Leininger; and his grandchildren, Robbie Saunders, Angelo Leininger, Sheridan Cook and Grayson Leininger. He is also survived by five greatgrandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
