She was predeceased by: her father P. J. Mertens; and her brother Dennis Louis Mertens. She is survived by: her mother Linda Mertens (Williams) of Rolla, MO; her husband Eric Volkmer of Rolla, MO; her children, Paul Volkmer (Gina) of Rolla, MO, John Volkmer of Colorado Springs, CO and Erica Volkmer of Rolla, MO; her grandchildren, Drake and Eleanor Volkmer of Rolla, MO; her siblings, Scott Mertens (Melinda) of Rolla, MO and Tracey Davies (Tim) of Liberty, MO.; and her siblings-in-law, Paula Gibson (Chip Perry) of Lexington, MO, Julie Evans (Gary) of Lake Ozark, MO and Robert Volkmer of Jefferson City, MO.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (19 St Patricks Ln, Rolla, MO 65401). A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
