He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel A. Cartwright and Frieda Cartwright (Kruse); his wife Ruth Marie Cartwright (Kitchen); his daughter Cindy Cartwright; his daughter-in-law Judy Cartwright; and his sister Mary Ann Johnson.

He is survived by: his children, Daniel Cartwright of Anutt, MO, Dwayne Cartwright (Julie) of Rolla, MO, Lorena Case (Dennis) of Lecoma, MO and Darla Seelke (Robert) of Rolla, MO; and his grandchildren, Sean Cartwright (Kimberly), Angela Arthur (Dewayne), Joe Cartwright (Amy), Josh Cartwright (Tiffany), Jon Cartwright (Lindsey), Jenna Weldon (Clint), Jeff Case (Laura), Emily Yue (Andrew), Hannah Mason (Aaron), Kendra Satterly (Thomas) and Ryan Seelke (Jessica). He is also survived by thirty two great grandchildren.
