He was predeceased by: his parents, John Robert and Ida Barton (Bell); and his siblings, Emory Barton, Jimmy Barton, Bobby Moore, Joe Moore, Leo Moore, Little George Moore, Charlie Barton and Merina Hatcher.

He is survived by: his children, Johnnie Lee Barton, Jr., Ronnie Barton of Salem, MO and Delta Dawn Shelton (Jerry) of Fredericktown, MO; and his brother Larry Barton (Jeff) of Salem, MO. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his cousins.
