He was predeceased by: his parents, John M. Whitfield and Frances L. Whitfield (Wisdom); and his sister Gail Van Campen. He is survived by: his wife Marceline Whitfield; his children, Rex Whitfield (Christina) and Amy Niemira (Jim Niemira); his grandchildren, Will Niemira (Cherie Mosalud) and Sylvia Espitia (Miles); and his great grandchild Patrick.
