He is survived by: his wife Helen Johnston (Althoff) of Rolla, MO; his children, Neal Johnston (Dawn) of Tyler, TX, Nathan Johnston (Christine) of St. Charles, MO, Matthew Johnston (Caitlin) of Edgewater, Maryland, Kristin Phillips (Tim) of Salisbury, NC and Suzannah Toso (Erik) of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; his grandchildren, Jason, Gabrielle, Ashley, Harrison, Anna, Nicklas, Kenley, Niko and Luke; and his brother John Johnston.
