He was predeceased by: his parents, Jack Mathis and Jewel Mathis (Short); his sister Shirley Evans; his niece Cindy Stevenson; and his parents-in-law, Roger and Jessica Williams.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Mathis (Williams) of Rolla; his children, Steve Mathis of Rolla, MO, Chad Mathis (Amy) of Newburg, MO and Christina Craft (Chris Brumett) of Rolla, MO; his brother Jack Mathis (Janet) of San Antonio, TX; his grandchildren, Ashley (Antwan), Danny, Logan (Madison), Katelin, Samantha, Ella, Brittney, Emily and Isaiah; and his great grandchildren, Roman, Jazmyn, Aaliyah, Layla, Luna, Izabela and Aurora.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shriner's Children's Hospital.
