He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Gering and Christine Gering (Urbanek); his wife Eileen Ortbals; his children, Connie Brunell (Ron), Cathy Foster (Michael), George Jr. (Diane) and Gregory; and his grandchildren, Michael Brunell (Courtney), Jon Gering (Sarah), George Gering, Bradley Gering (Kaley), Zachary, Zane Wilms, Cyndy (Sean), Heidi (Donnie), Megahn (David), Sarah (Rob) and Samantha. He was also cherished by fourteen great grandchildren.
