He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Lou Martin (Happle) and Novel Cleveland Whittaker; his wife Nancy; his son Jeremy Southard; and his sister Rita Persicke.
He is survived by: his children, Courtney Southard of Waynesville and Cody Jackson of Republic, Missouri; his daughter-in-law Ali Southard of El Dorado, Kansas; and his siblings, Dale Southard (Julie) of Rolla, Steve Whittaker and Ruthie Whittaker. He is also survived by four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
