He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Carnes and Johnnie Marie Carnes; his wife Ivonne Gilmore; his sons, John David and Jimmy Earl; and his siblings, Billy Dale Carnes, Bobby Long, Irene Long and Erlene Long Truitt.
He is survived by: his daughter Cathy Eakins (Troy); his grandchildren, Andrea (Josh Rupp), Jessica (Travis Hudson), Brad (Emily Carnes), Casey (Anthony Crisp), Katie (Katlin Humble), Kelsie (Dallas Melton), Josh Eakins, Carrie Eakins and Kylie Eakins; and his sister-in-law Genevia Jackson (Mike). He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren, relatives, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Barnes Family Funeral Home (1700 S 15th Ave, Ozark, MO 65721). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 11th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Elm Grove Church (111 Elm Grove Rd, Rogersville, MO 65742).
