He was predeceased by: his parents, Jewel Creason and Mary Lynn Bates (Wiggins); and his brother Robert Veach. He is survived by: his wife Mary L. Acree of Henrietta; his children, Todd Bates (Jill) of Richmond and Kelly Lee of Richmond; his grandchildren, Brooke Gard (Michael), Kristen Bates (Alex Luman), Tyler Bates, Logan Oldham, Corben Oldham, Gaven Oldham, Abrey Oldham, Evan Bates and Leyton; his great grandchildren, Lilly Ahart, Rylee Claire, Kloyee Claire, Jaxon Ahart, Brayleigh Bates, Amilia Ahart and Kazlee Luman; and his brother Jim Veach of Carrollton.
