He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Cave Rice, Jr. and Hazel Addie Rice (Beery) of Mecca, Missouri.; his wife Phyllis; his son Kevin; and his former wife JoAnne Lizar (Golden).
He is survived by: his son Marlin Rice (Kay) of Ames, IA; his grandchildren, Aleece Rhinehart (Matt) of Columbia, MO, Cody Rice (Anna-Lisa) of Ankeny, IA, Tyler Rice (Ashley) of Douglasville, GA, Austin Rice (Justine) of San Diego, CA, Kendra Verash (Kyle) of Houston, TX and Eric Rice (Laura) of Benbrook, TX; his great grandchildren, Mauren, Emrik, Skyler, George, Alayna, Oliver, Mason, Lewis, Thea, Jackson, Charlotte, Aspen, Martin, Elijah, Willa and Curtis Alexander (Jane); and also, Erica, Brooke, Katie, Kyle, Scott and Reid.
Robert and Phyllis were inseparable for 56 years until her death from Parkinson's disease in 2006.
