She was predeceased by: her son Russell Eugene Sturgeon; her siblings, Hubert Covey, Charles Allen Covey, Billy Covey, Arvel Covey, Violet Bloss, Dorothy Harshner, Catherine Griffin and Hazel Houston; and her granddaughter Deanna Moyer.
She is survived by: her spouse Thomas Russell Sturgeon of Stet, MO; her children-in-law, Joan Francis, Bill Francis of Richmond, Judy Franklin, Don Franklin of Richmond and Barbara Sturgeon of Richmond; her brother Art Covey of Richmond; and her sister-in-law Anita Covey of Richmond. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and their spouses, Rusty and Toni Sturgeon, Tammy and Tony Deatherage, Rick and Lori Sturgeon, Cindy Sturgeon, Thomas and Heather Sturgeon, Gennie and Shawn Cowger, Chris and Kayla Sturgeon, Dawn Houston, Denise Francis, Chad and Chrissy Burnett, Brandi St Amour, Crystal and Travis Darnell and Lynn and Jeffrey Floyd; 34 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
