She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Gilliland and Lillian Gilliland of Ludlow; her husband Irwin Thomas; and her siblings, Richard Gilliland, George "Pat" Gilliland, Carol Lamb and Grace Smith.
She is survived by: her children, David Ross Thomas (Sandra) of Apex and Deboarh Reid (Charles) of Carrollton; her grandsons, Andrew (Amanda) and Tyler Bowlen (Jessica); her great grandchildren, Marshall and Madeline; and her siblings, Dohn Gilliland, David Gilliland, Janice Kopp, Nola Zeltwanger, Marilyn Carson and Mina Andersen.
