He was predeceased by: his parents, Morton Rice and Mary Rice (VanKemseke); and his brother Ennis Rice. He is survived by: his children, Jeffery Rice (Theresa) of Lawson, Jesse Rice (Rachel) of Richmond and Julie Hamilton-Bush (Jason) of Richmond; his grandchildren, Chaz Rice, Alexis Rice, Wyatt Rice, Quinn Rice, Grayson Rice, Della Rose Rice, Hunter Hamilton and Gavin Bush; his great grandchildren, Jeffery Rice, Amber Rice and Nathan Rice; his sister Rosemary Maschler of Liberty; and his sister-in-law Debbie Rice of Oak Grove. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
