He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy Oster and Emma Van Oster (Palmer); his siblings, Bill, David Van Oster and Beverly Mallott; and his grandson Austin Van Oster.
He is survived by: his parent-in-law Carline Kinney of Excelsior Springs; his sons, James Roy Van Oster (Cindy Stunkel) of Kearney, Shawn Allen Van Oster (Shelley) of Wellston, OK and Eric Lee Van Oster of Rayville; his siblings, Rick Van Oster of Richmond, Cathy Wilson (Robert) of Richmond, Linda Littrell of Higginsville and Virginia Franco; his grandchildren, Anna, Jacob, Hayley and Jessi; his great grandchildren, Eli and Lincoln; and his pets, Tom and Bob.
