It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Carey of Richmond, Missouri, born in Wakenda, Missouri, who passed away on May 14, 2019, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bowman and Velva Lee "Velvie" Bowman (Still); his wife Julia Marie "Judy" Kraft of Henrietta; his brother Ray Bowman; his half-brothers, Clyde Bowman, Reed Bowman and Gene Bowman; his sisters, Wilma Wilson and Dorothy Clark; and his half-sister Blanche Bowman.

He is survived by: his daughters, Beverlee June Duvall (James) of Lexington, Patricia "Lynne" Bales (Gary) of Kansas City and Johnna Lee Johnson of Richmond; his grandchildren, Piper Sparks (James), Brett Duvall, Christopher Brown (Connie), Timothy Brown and Brandon Bales; and his great grandchildren, Robyn Tuwei (Alfred), James Duvall, Cullen Bryant, Mariah Dennis (Keifer), Lauren Bryant, Devin Brown, Jodie Marie Brown, Kathy Brown, Travis Brown, Mackenzie Brown, Nyla Tuwei, Emma Davis, Braxton Brown, Taraji Tuwei, Ryker Dennis and Gunner Lee McNelly.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Richmond First Baptist Church Handicap Construction Fund.
