He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Edward and Nova O'Dell Mays (Morris). He is survived by: his wife Sharon Kay Barnett of Malden; his son Joshua Daniel Mays of Kansas City; and his siblings, Harold Edward Mays of Parma and Patricia Annette Stratman (Scott) of Parma.

The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Jerry Mays Memorial Fund.
