He was predeceased by: his parents, Theadore Hampton and Virginia Hampton (Struebing); his siblings, Bill, Ted, Jack Hampton and Cathy Otto; and his sister-in-law Judy Acton.
He is survived by: his former wife Twila Wilker; his wife Donna Wellman; his children, Richard Hampton (Laurie) of Smithville, Sherry Christopher (Shan) of Polo and Jeff Wellman of Las Vegas, NV; his grandchildren, Kyle Hampton of Liberty, Joel Hampton of Smithville, Chastity Paulson (Ray) of Peculiar, Jocelyn Kilmer (Austin Erwin) of Kansas City, KS and Jordan Kilmer of Liberty; and his great grandchildren, Tyler and Austin Paulson of Peculiar.
